Lauren took Cole to Addington today and managed two super double clears and a 7th place in a field of 57. This means they now have their qualification for the British Novice and Discovery second rounds.   (more…)

Finn hits Florida!

Thursday, September 20th, 2012

Its so lovely to hear of horses we have sold on. Finn was Lauren & Sophies first step to adult showjumping classes.

'Finn has moved to the land of sunshine and oranges and top ranking show jumping!! Can you guess? His new home is in Bradenton, FL where he trains with Brock Clermont of Clermark Equestrian.'

Lucky boy, we hope he continues to do well 🙂

Finn is off to a new home

Saturday, October 16th, 2010

Sadly, Finn has been sold. It was a hard decision but he has found some lovely new owners who will showjump and do Pony Club with him. He will be so happy to go out competing and we wish Lauren, (coincidence he has another Lauren) lots of luck in the future.

An update from Finn as he had quite a following from Turville 🙂     He has settled in well and is meeting his new four legged friends. Has been for some lovely hacks, where they can ride for hours with very little road work. Has a smart new rug, first lesson on Wednesday and they all love him. His nickname on the yard is ‘Race car’, I wonder why!!!!!!

Home from Scope!

Saturday, September 4th, 2010

Made our way home from the Scope Showjumping Championships today.  Had a great week but sadly Lauren and John Boy didn’t qualify for HOYS in the Newcomers Masters.  However they jumped some super rounds, coming 2nd out of 140 in the Foxhunter/Blue Riband and made it to the Champonship arena three times. This must be the nearest thing to Horse of the Year Show, huge arena, big crowds and even bigger atmosphere. John Boys eyes were on stalks as he entered the arena but he focused his hardest on the fences and jumped beautifully but those toes just touched a pole 🙁 A great experience all round.

On returning home we discovered Bernadette with her lovely Ravels Bolero won her Petplan (more to follow). Also Samantha had a half page write up and photo in Horse and Hound in addition to photos in Dressage Magazine.  Also Melanie Murray and Uccello, her Andalusian x Lusitano (by Don Diego), entered their first ‘online’ dressage competition.  Having no horsebox they thought they would have a go, do the test and send the video in. They won on a score of over 70%.  Well done to all!

John Boy now qualified 2nd round Foxhunter

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

Lauren and Waltons Top Flight (John Boy) picked up a 2nd today in the Foxhunter at Addington.  This was their 4th double clear in a row so qualified them for the second rounds for next year.  🙂 Another box ticked!

Lauren and John Boy qualify for Newcomers Scope

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

Lauren and John Boy (Waltons Top Flight) jumped the class of their life today. It was the second round Newcomers with 107 competitors. The first two qualify for The Horse of the Year Show and top five go through to the Scope Championships so competition was fierce!  As Lauren went in she edged him on, ‘He isn’t listening today’, she commented on her way in but he obviously had his own agenda as he produced a foot perfect clear round, one of only about twenty. He followed that with another clear which put him in the final jump off with just nine others. Up went the jumps again, mum could hardly watch, some were up to 1.40m.  He jumped well but incurred 8 faults which still put them 5th, such was the difficulty of the course. This qualifies them for Scope where apparently they have another crack at HOYS. We’d better look in rule book! All very happy in Turville 🙂

The pair went to day four of the Addington Classic Summer Show on 9th July and got another double clear Foxhunter and were placed 3rd. John Boy is a little star!

Lauren and John Boy win their first Foxhunter

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

Lauren and JB competed at Addington again today hoping to get another double clear in the Foxhunter. John Boy jumped beautifully in the first class and picked up a 3rd and then followed that with a win in the Foxhunter.  Lauren was so pleased as he met every fence perfectly and made it all  feel so easy today.  All the hard work is really paying off now, lets hope they can keep it together for the ‘biggy’ this weekend!
